I'm 37 years old on October 5, 2019. In Gainsville, Florida with friends watching my alma mater play football, to a less than desirable outcome. The leader of a youth group, consistent churchgoer, life I feel is in order. October 11, 2019, Susan Jett my wife was initially diagnosed with cancer of Unknown Primary. I lose much of my faith, stop going to church, feel abandoned by everyone and everything around me. For those of you that are caregivers, there are struggles that you will encounter that you will be unprepared for. Caring for someone you love that has cancer is a task, no one is ever prepared for. I would love to tell you I was strong, brave, and did all the right things. This is not true.
This Group, Hope Warriors is to help those that have this task before them to better navigate this time of their lives. We don't have all of the answers, I want to be a person to lean on and answer questions. I won't have all of the answers. I will be someone to talk to and understand what you are going through. Not judging you on how you handle this small time in your life. It will pass, but not on your time, but on God's time. I understand this better now. I prayed he would give this cancer to me and make my wife's pain go away. He gave me one, but not the other. God is in control. No matter the amount of worry I had, or the amount of planning I did. God worked through our lives. Just like Peter denied Christ 3 times, I think that every caregiver will have doubts and fears I hope to help you through this time, regardless of the outcome.
